Using A Towel Ladder To Organize Bathroom Towels
A Chrome or Brass Towel Ladder: PTC Home & Garden Ladder Shelf/Towel Rack, Gatco Ladder for towels in chrome or brass or Paul Decorative Ladder Towel Bar 202 7 PS
It can be so frustrating in the bathroom to have a shower or soak in the bathtub, only to find there is no towel available afterwards; or that the only towel is too wet or small, or both. That is why it is so important to properly organize your towels in the bathroom, so that when you need one, there is always a dry towel available, and of the size you need.
For storing spare towels for future use, some sort of bathroom linen cabinet or cupboard is a good idea. However, you want towels in current use out in the open where you can see and reach them. That is where a towel ladder can come in very handy, or in the shower an over door towel rack.
A towel ladder is a form of towel rack, named as such because of its likeness to a ladder that you climb. Of course, you can make do with any sort of towel rack in the bathroom, but the ladder type usually fits snugly against the wall so can be a good space saver, as well as looking neater than a rack that juts out too far from the wall.
Towel ladders come in various sizes, so think carefully how many towel rails you think you will need. You could always buy two or more, but if one large one will do it is probably more economic that way. Another thing to consider before buying is whether you want a towel ladder just for inside, or one that can be used outside in the garden too.
For use inside and out, something like the PTC Home & Garden Ladder Shelf/Towel Rack in black is a nice example, selling at about $90. This stands 6 foot tall, so can accommodate a lot of towels. Being in decorative wrought iron it can easily be used outside all year without worry, or you can use it inside if you wish. Some people may even use it inside as a magazine rack.
For a smaller towel ladder, a wall mounted ladder such as the Gatco Towel Ladder in chrome or brass will suit the average bathroom. At 24 inches this small ladder will accommodate several towels on its three rails. At just over $50 you would expect good quality bathroom décor, and this rack is certainly attractive. Much more expensive still though, at close to $500, is the Paul Decorative Ladder Towel Bar 202 7 PS with acrylic bars in polished stainless steel. This is very solid looking and will suit a contemporary bathroom for someone with an ample budget.
